Madison Square Garden to host super-fight in September

Joe Calzaghe's swansong fight against Roy Jones Junior will be held at New York's Madi
son Square Garden on 20th September.
The undefeated Welshman will take on Jones for The Ring Magazine's light-heavyweight title, with Calzaghe planning to retire after the bout.
Initially Calzaghe had hoped to stage the fight in Britain, however he will now bring down the curtain on his career in America.
John Wirt, who is the chief executive of SquareRing - Jones' promotional company - confirmed the details of super-fight on Tuesday.
"The deal for the fight is done, we're finalizing with The Garden," Wirt told ESPN.com.
"Roy is very pumped up not only about the fight itself, but that he is promoting it with Joe. With Roy it is an honour that Joe has agreed to do the fight with him." Both Calzaghe and Jones split with their respective promoters before agreeing to the fight. Calzaghe had been working with Frank Warren, while Don King had promoted Jones. And while Calzaghe is set to retire, Jones could work with King again in the future. "Roy explained to Don that he wanted to fulfil his dream of promoting the fight on his own with Joe," Wirt added. "Don was gracious enough to allow that to happen. We're definitely open to doing business with Don in the future."Honour
